Iluka Resources' Balranald Mineral Sands Project is one of Australia's most significant critical minerals developments extracting rutile, zircon and rare earth minerals in south-western NSW. When AIH was engaged to support the processing plant construction, the scope required excavators across multiple weight classes and a non-standard power generation solution: a linked 400kVA configuration achieved by paralleling two 200kVA generators, plus a standalone 150kVA unit and dedicated fuel tank infrastructure.

The required generator specification sat outside AIH's fleet at the time. Rather than turn the work away, AIH procured the generators specifically for the project and had the full equipment package; excavators, generators and fuel infrastructure mobilised to site in under seven days. Construction commenced on schedule with zero delays.

AIH has maintained a sustained presence on the Balranald project across its full construction programme supporting a $400M+ Tier 1 mineral sands operation for the duration.
